Early Childhood Admissions

The Early Childhood Program at The Waldorf School of San Diego provides a gradual transition from the life of the home to the structure of an elementary school. We honor these early years as the foundation of human development and as such not a time to be rushed. Children are gently guided through their daily activities with songs and verses: including circle time of songs and games, indoor and outdoor free play, storytime, and a warm, organic snack.

Admissions FAQ

When should I begin the application process?

We offer a rolling admissions process and accept new applications year-round, assuming there is still placement available. In order to ensure the best chance at available placement, we accept new applications up to two years in advance and it is best to submit no later than 9 months in advance of the intended date of entry. Classes fill fast and you may be placed on the waitlist if the desired class is filled.

Can my student shadow?

We offer an opportunity during then  for your little one to get to know our school and their class teacher with a scheduled playdate for children and parents in our early childhood playground.

Parent-Child Program

Our Morning Glory Playgroups provide a lovely opportunity for parents or caregiver and their young children to come together once a week for a morning of play. Each age-specific playgroup is tailored to support the needs of the children and parents.

There are two sessions per year (there are no classes over the summer). Registration opens for the Fall Session in July and for the Spring Session in December of each year. Classes fill fast each session and often end with a waiting list. You are welcome to complete the Inquiry Form under the Admissions tab for further details.
